Join our Conservator in Residence, Spencer Montcalm from 11 am – 2 pm for a series of programs in the third-floor gallery!

Join Spencer Montcalm, Conservator in Residence, in the pop-up conservation laboratory located on the third floor in the exhibition space of Restored Treasures Part 2. He will be completing conservation treatments and assessments on the AWE collection. Viewers are encouraged to ask questions and engage. See firsthand what is normally behind closed doors. The pop-up conservation laboratory will show common conservation techniques, tools, and procedures through the rotation of artworks throughout the exhibition duration.

October 29 Condition Assessments and Treatment Proposals for eight works from the Art Windsor-Essex collection.
November 5 Retouching Florence Wyle’s Head of a Violinist & Juanisialu Irqumia’s print stone, Hunter and Polar Bear.
November 12 Conservation of Egevadluq Ragee’s Arctic Hare, re-creating an ear.
November 19 Repairing Roland Brener’s Mini Monster House (variation 1).
November 26 Stabilizing Johnniebo Ashevak’s Bear. Attaching the bear’s foot.
December 8 Cleaning the surface of Joseph Drapell’s painting Scission.
December 10 Peeleeosie Kooneeliusie’s Man with Drummer with Walrus with Woman, fixing an old repair that has failed.
December 17 Assessing Victor Tolgesy’s Nature Tree and Bowl for its true intent.
