Be sure to join us for the spring edition of AWE at Night of 2026 on March 19th from 5pm-9pm! AWE is open for an evening filled with art activities, community discussions, guided tours, and great vibes.

Art Activity: Tin Foil Stain Glass with Meaghan Sweeney

5pm – 8:30pm, 2nd floor, Education Studio

Join AWE Educator Meaghan Sweeney in the studio to create your very own faux stain glass decor using hot glue, tin foil, and markers!

Artist Talk: Sarah Sproule with Talysha Bujold-Abu

6:30pm – 7pm, 2nd floor galleries

Join artist Sarah Sproule and curator Below the 6ix curator, Talysha Bujold-Abu. Through casting and mould-making with plaster, clay, and found objects, Sproule creates dimensional forms that explore the body, otherness, and identity through the lenses of queerness, disability, and fat politics. The exhibition imagines a “heterotopia” – a space that both reflects and transforms the world – where marginalized bodies are welcomed and held.

Curator Tour: Emerging Digital Artist Awards 2025

7pm – 7:30pm, 3rd floor galleries

Join us for a curator-led tour of the Emerging Digital Artists Award exhibition with EQ Bank Senior Curator Shannon Linde with Emily McKibbon. Now in its 11th year, the award celebrates emerging artists in Canada who are pushing the boundaries of digital media. This year’s exhibition features five artists exploring themes of the body, cultural connection, ideas of home, and the transformative potential of digital tools and glitch.

Curator Tour: L'air est lourd

7:30 – 8pm, 2nd floor galleries

Join us for a curator-led tour of L’air est lourd, a group exhibition curated by Cassandra Lesage Fongué. The exhibition considers the storm as a metaphor for the climate transformations of the Anthropocene – an atmosphere charged with anticipation before the storm breaks. Featuring works by Lisa Hirmer, Laura Demers, Hala Alsalman, and Katherine Takpannie, the exhibition explores artificial clouds, fragile atmospheres, and imagined post-catastrophe futures.
