Join us for a curator-led tour of L’air est lourd, a group exhibition curated by Cassandra Lesage Fongué.
The exhibition considers the storm as a metaphor for the climate transformations of the Anthropocene – an atmosphere charged with anticipation before the storm breaks. Featuring works by Lisa Hirmer, Laura Demers, Hala Alsalman, and Katherine Takpannie, the exhibition explores artificial clouds, fragile atmospheres, and imagined post-catastrophe futures.
Cassandra Lesage Fongué is an emerging curator, photographer, filmmaker, and designer holding an M.Arch. and a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from the University of Waterloo. Her artistic research strives to challenge notions of visual representation and human-centric vision in architecture, contemporary art, and design through exhibition, film, photography, and writing. Her practice explores the tension between auto/biographical modes of making while examining place, landscape, and non-human life. She conceived L’air est lourd as an exploration of the storm as an immersive system—slow, inevitable, and ongoing.
