Ready to level up your watercolour techniques? Join AWE educator Meaghan Sweeney for a three-part life watercolour painting series that builds your skills week by week! From basic techniques, to glazing and layering colour, you’ll explore movement, form, and the art of wateroclours in a fun and supportive setting!

Lesson 1: Saturday, November 29

Get ready to free your brushstrokes! In this first class, Meaghan will show you the fundamentals of watercolour by painting mini landscape studies. Familiarize yourself with techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry-on-dry. You’ll learn how to play with landscape compositions to really make your work pop.

Lesson 2: Saturday, December 6

Let the colours flow! This class will introduce you to the harmony of colours and how to maximize the effects of your pigments using glazing techniques. You’ll explore watercolours by making postcard studies, building on composition and watercolour techniques.

Lesson 3: Saturday, December 13

Take your painting to the next level with a full watercolour landscape. You’ll choose your favorite composition, build up shapes, and refine details as you go. This class focuses on the elements that bring a painting together to create a polished work of art.
