Join us for a basket weaving workshop with Louise MacDougall. This is a great class for beginner and intermediate weavers and teaches a variety of techniques! Participants will make a Market Basket.
Schedule
- 10:00am – 12:00pm: Workshop introduction, materials overview, and starting your basket
- 12:00 – 12:30pm: Lunch break
- 12:30 – 5:00pm: Continue and finish your basket
What should I bring?
- Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little messy…
- An apron or smock
- A reusable water bottle and a packed lunch
- A towel or large microfiber cloth
- Coffee, tea, light refreshments, and light snacks will be provided.
Where should I park?
Limited onsite parking is available at AWE. Shared parking lot accessible via Church Street, including 2 accessible parking spaces. Pay-and-display lot at Bruce & Riverside ($5 for up to 10 hours, approx. 1-minute walk). Parking garage on Pitt Street ($12 daily maximum).
Will the workshop take the whole time (10am-5pm)?
The hands-on portion of the workshop will take approximately 4 hours. Additional time is built in for breaks and lunch. Participants are welcome to work at their own pace with guidance from the facilitator until 5pm.
