Seniors Program: Chair Yoga and Linocut Prints with Sandie Collins

Your registration fee includes instruction and materials. This does not include admission to the gallery. General admission to AWE is $10. General admission is free for current AWE members.

Explore the art of printmaking in this hands-on workshop led by Sandie Collins! The workshop will begin with gentle chair yoga and a short self-hand massage to loosen up and get our most valuable tools ready for printing! Then, learn how to design, carve, and print your own lino blocks while experimenting with different techniques and materials. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop offers a chance to create unique prints. All materials and tools will be provided.

About the Facilitator: Sandie Collins

Sandie Collins has spent over forty years exploring printmaking, specializing in linocut. Her work has grown from landscape-inspired prints to bold figurative drawings and collaborative projects, emphasizing the physicality of carving and printing. In 2024 she created a series of twenty large-scale linocuts, a milestone that led to her current body of work, Held Together: Coming Apart, which blends gesture, abstraction, and figuration. Collins holds a BFA from the University of Windsor and continues to balance her art with a long-standing yoga practice.
