Join AWE educators for a guided tour current exhibitions. Artist-educator Sandra Ellis will show us how to create linocut print inspired by the exhibition Ink, Charcoal & Jet, curated by Talysha Bujold-Abu.

All materials and art supplies provided. Stick around for some tea and coffee, and great conversation!

About the Artist: Sandra Ellis

Sandra Ellis is a Windsor-based artist whose practice explores nature and architecture through watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink, chalk, and printmaking. Deeply engaged in arts education and community, Sandra is an active member of several regional arts organizations and work primarily from her home studio.

Digital Guide: Ink, Charcoal & Jet

This exhibition, pulled from the Art Windsor-Essex Collection, seeks to locate and foreground Black within the institutionexamining absence through presence. By interrogating Blackness as a medium, alike to the title Ink, Charcoal, & Jet – the colourBlack is positioned as a central character: an active, contributing voice, speaking from the collection.
