About the Workshop

Inspired by Muriel Ahmarani Jaouich: An Archaeology of Echoes, this workshop brings family, memory, and mending together through fabric and thread. Participants will begin with a short tour of the exhibition, reflecting on themes of connection and movement.

Afterward, participants will work with artist Lisa Sylvestre to transform a family photo printed on fabric into a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Using embroidery techniques, participants will stitch directly into their photos, weaving in new patterns, textures, and stories – repairing and reimagining memory through embroidery.

Before the Workshop

Participants are asked to email [email protected] one (1) family photo at least 3 days before the workshop. The images will be printed in advance for participants to use during the workshop.
