FREE business and career skills training program for artists and creatives in Windsor-Essex.
Generously supported by Libro Credit Union, this program is open to all artists, makers and creatives in the Windsor-Essex region.

This program aims to build professional capacity in the Arts and creative industries. Supporting participants with the professional skills they need to build their creative careers.
The program is delivered through four day-long sessions and two optional drop-in sessions. Participants will receive a FREE AWE membership, and certificate of completion.
All programming will take place at Art Windsor-Essex.

Facilitator Bio: Christy Litster is an award-winning Artist based in Windsor, Ontario. She received her Bachelor of Design, Specializing in Fashion from Toronto Metropolitan University. Over the past decade, she has worked on many exciting projects with notable clients which include The City of Windsor Mayor’s Office, The Town of Essex, The Town of Kingsville, and the Town of Lasalle. She is passionate about sharing her creativity and experience. Christy has worked with Art Windsor-Essex on a variety of workshop opportunities. These include an “Art Swap with Christy Litster” workshop in partnership with the Teen Arts Council; was a featured artist in multiple Weekends in the Studio workshop programs; and even hosted a children’s activity at The Rotary Club of Windsor’s Art in the Park Kid’s Zone. In 2022, Christy partnered with Art Windsor-Essex to provide a 5-week mural and intuitive art workshop series for the women in addiction treatment at House of Sophrosyne in Windsor. Following this, House of Sophrosyne hired her on for a 2-year contract to provide each new cohort of women a “Wellness Through the Arts” workshop. In addition to providing her own workshops to the public, Christy was also the Fashion Illustration and Technical Design instructor for 5 years at St. Clair College’s Fashion Design Program. Christy was awarded the Mayor’s Arts Award for Individual Artist in 2020 for her dedication to building opportunities for emerging artists in Windsor-Essex County. Her passion for connecting people with their creativity has been the driving factor to her success in the region.
