What ages are the camp best suited for?

We welcome campers between 6 and 12 years old.

What will campers learn?

Each day, campers will tour a new exhibition and draw inspiration from artwork they find in the gallery. Throughout the week, our experienced instructors will guide participants through a range of hands-on activities, including painting (from watercolours to acrylics), drawing (from pastels to pencils), sculpting (with clay and recycled materials), and much, much more (experiments, collaborative installations and projects, collage, textiles…). In addition, campers will spend time outdoors at the park!

What does a typical day look like?

9 am: Drop off at front doors. 9 am to 12 pm: Campers are in the education studio or in the gallery exploring exhibitions. Snack break at 10am. 12pm to 1pm: Lunch and recess at the park. 1 to 4 pm: Campers are in the education studio or in the gallery exploring exhibitions. Snack break mid-afternoon. 4pm: Pick up at front doors.

What should I bring to camp?

Please pack: a peanut-free lunch and snacks a backpack a reusable water bottle outdoor gear (hat, running shoes, sunglasses) a sweater (it gets cold in the gallery!) a smock or apron, a change of clothes (things will get messy!). All art supplies provided but we encourage you to bring a personal sketchbook. Note : Please leave all electronics at home.

What times are pick-up and drop-off?

Drop-off is between 9am and 9:15am . The front doors will be locked to the general public until 10am. An AWE staff member will greet you at the front door for check-in and lead them to the 2nd floor Education Studio. Pick-up is between 4pm and 4:15pm . The campers will meet parents and guardians at the front door at the main entrance of the gallery.

Cancellations and Refunds

All cancellation requests must be received in writing by email to shinch@artwindsoressex.ca . Art Windsor-Essex reserves the right to cancel or combine programs if minimum registrations are not achieved 14 days prior to a camp’s start date. Full refunds will be made in the event of program cancellation.
