Meet the Artist: Garvin Chinnia

Garvin Chinnia is a painter that hails from Edmonton Alberta. He is a graduate of Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver BC. Dabbling in both abstract and representational visual languages, his subjects have included a cursory look at the human figure, as well as an exploration of paint as paint. His more recent works have taken a more traditional (for him) turn, and that is a closer look at the natural world. This love of all things animalia and flora is broad, but he is especially interested in the interactions between the smaller players in ecosystems. By pursuing these interests by painting and drawing, he hopes to clarify his own position in a rapidly changing and uncertain biosphere.
