Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Marking Presence with Alejandro Tamayo
Time and Date: Thursday, January 16, 7:30pm-8pm
Location: Art Windsor-Essex, 2nd floor galleries
Cost: This event is part of AWE at Night. Admission to AWE at Night is $20 and free for current AWE members.
Join artist Alejandro Tamayo in this interactive activity. Choose a lid from a collection, trace its shape on the gallery wall, and attach the lid with museum wax. You can add your name, date, and time.
As more visitors take part, the wall transforms from a blank canvas into a layered composition of circles and lids, reflecting the collective presence of participants.
This activity explores transformation over time, turning the gallery into a shared, personal space shaped by simple actions and connections.
