Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

About the Artist: Abbey Dufault
Abbey Dufault, also known as “abibbit,” is a 22-year-old artist from Windsor, Ontario, who creates mixed-media art exploring identity, vulnerability, and self expression. Her work often features her character the “Crying Cherry,” a quirky fruit embodying emotions like anxiety and self-doubt. Bold and colourful, Abbey’s art invites reflection on the balance between fitting in and being true to oneself. The Crying Cherry, created to help Abbey process her anxiety, evolves with each piece and serves as both a personal symbol and a reflection of the viewer, offering a space for empathy and introspection

This program is supported by the Solcz Family Foundation and Trans Wellness Ontario
