Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Meet the Artist: Ashley Hastings
Ashley was born and raised in Windsor. She received her bachelors in Visual Art and Art
History from the University of Windsor and her Masters of Library and Information
Sciences from UWO. She is inspired by shapes and nature and aims to create a sense of comfort and serenity when viewing her work. Ashley currently works with acrylic paint, embroidery and monoprinting. In her work you will find layers upon layers of thin washes and drippings of water. When working with layers of paint, you can often see the journey from start to finish.
