Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Making Shakers
Using hollowed and halved coconuts, build and assemble a maraca, experimenting with pellets and sound. While the epoxy sets the two halves together, students can enjoy applying paint and decorative scarf/flag to attach for more pizazz and/styling. Leave with your very own handmade percussion instrument.
Meet the Artist
A professional singer-songwriter from Southwestern Ontario, “The Universe Featuring Ray” writes and performs catchy, original songs on guitar, synths, pianos and vocals. Ray is constantly creating and dabbling in a variety of different mediums, fabricating stage props using a collection of recycled odds and ends, making stage costumes handcrafting the majority of her merchandise into one of a kind pieces – jewelry, pins, tie dye, screen printing, patches, incense holders, etc.
