Saturdays in the Studio! Mini Magnets with Megan Andrews

DATE: Saturdays in January 2022
TIME: 1pm- 4pm
LOCATION: 2nd floor, Education Studio

Spend your Saturdays at AWE! This month, join artist Megan Andrews in the studio to create one-of-a-kind projects and crafts. This program is generously sponsored by Anne Safranyos and family.

To Participate:

  • Drop-in between 1-4pm on Saturdays.
  • This program is free with admission to AWE and open to all.
  • Questions? Email Sophie Hinch, Education and Public Programs Coordinator at shinch@agw.ca

Participants will create DIY magnets by painting different wooden shapes including stars, or fish. Anything can be painted on these shapes! After the paint has dried magnets can be glued to the back, creating your mini magnet.

Meet the Artist: Megan Andrews

Megan Andrews is an artist from Windsor, Ontario. She recently finished her BFA in visual arts at the University of Windsor. Her practice is influenced by her love of carpentry by predominantly using wood as her canvas. Megan uses the unique grain pattern in each piece of wood to influence her work as she creates abstracted forms with bold colour. Her work focuses on saturated colour use to evoke emotion and draw the viewer’s gaze.
