Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

AWE presents ZOOM art workshops to participants in support of their mental health and overall wellbeing. Hosted on the first Sunday and third Tuesday of each month, AWE holds a safe creative space that brightens up the weekends of countless people in our community in a time where we need connection most of all. Each workshop begins with a well-being check-in, followed by a meditation, a slow-looking art exercise, and an art-making activity.
Join Ainslee Winter and Derrick Carl Biso on the first Sunday and the third Tuesday of each month for a double dose of creative wellness.
Any sort of change creates a response within the body. As we navigate the changing forces present in our life, learn how we can soften into this new space through body-based awareness practices. Get in-tune with sensations in the body, and explore ways in which we can soften the edges through breath, gentle movement, and art making.
With our outer world and inner world always in motion, learn to create ease with an approach of softness and gentle awareness. Become curious with us as we explore these different approaches and strategies and see what works best for you!
