Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

The theme for November is “Back to Basics,” and I understand that many aspiring artists may feel uncertain about how to begin their creative journeys. To support you, I have planned a series of sessions covering essential topics, from understanding facial structure to beginner animation in Procreate. Additionally, I’m offering two sessions focused on expression and medium exploration, designed to help participants discover the art style that resonates most with them.
This exciting mixed media activity invites you to create a self-portrait in the whimsical style of a bobblehead. I believe this approach will provide a fun and engaging way to introduce the concept of self-portraits, while also encouraging reflection and self-discovery.
