Weekends in the Studio! Solidarity and Social Justice with Susan Gold

LOCATION: 2nd floor, Education Studio
COST: Free with regular gallery admission and free for AWE members
Looking toward May 1st (International Day of Solidarity of Working People), participants will explore various ways to create visual images on concepts of fairness, equality, cooperation, and world peace. This workshop will use text and a variety of mixed materials, to create placards and agitprops that are performative in nature. All ages of participants are welcome. There will be flexibility for individual and group work.
Looking toward May 1st (International Day of Solidarity of Working People), participants are welcome to leave their works at AWE for a community display in spring 2024. You can also take a photo of your artwork and submit by email to shinch@artwindsoressex.ca. The community display will be installed from April 22 to May 13, 2024 in the WFCU Eco Space on the third floor at AWE.
Susan Gold
SUSAN GOLD is a networking artist based in Windsor Ontario and engaged in an activist practice working for peace and justice. Susan is a Professor Emerita from the University of Windsor, School of Visual Arts. Her work can be seen in projects exhibited globally (nobelpeaceproject.com), and locally, at Nancy Johns Gallery.
