Weekends in the Studio! with the Vanguard Youth Arts Collective

It’s a Vanguard takeover! Join members of the Vanguard Youth Arts Collective in the Studio for a series of art workshops.
To Participate:
- Drop-in between 1-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays
- This program is free with admission to AWE and open to all.

The Vanguard Youth Arts Collective is a group of creatively driven youth who act as a voice for an emerging generation of the arts within the Windsor Essex region. They nurture creative development by fostering connections within the community and enrich the artistic culture in our community through youth engagement. Printmaking Party with Rebecca Mckenzie (she/they)
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at printmaking? Now’s your chance! Join Rebecca in the studio to create one-of-a-kind prints using a variety of materials and techniques.

DIY Fairy Wings with Meaghan Sweeney (she/they)
In need of a magical touch for pride, renaissance fair season, a costume, or maybe you just always wished for a pair of wings of your own? Join this workshop! We will guide participants through making their wings inspired by any number of winged creatures, real or imagined.

Paint, Paint, Pass : A Collaborative Painting Workshop with Chantal Brouillard (she/her)
This workshop will allow participants to create their own painting, and contribute their own creativity to the work of other participants. All participants will exchange their paintings with one another every 20-30 minutes for a collaborative and intuitive experience.

Haunted Vessels: A Celebration of the ‘Creepy’ Doll with Howl Fyodor (he/him)
Come and celebrate the art of the uncanny and unsettling by joining Howl at his travelling circus. This stop, creepy dollmaking! We will explore different techniques to make your very own possessed friend or pocket companion. This will be all ages as well as for all skill levels with a variety of options to suit your tastes!

Upcycle Aquariums with Bianca Daher (she/her) & Emma McGee (she/her)
A workshop where people can transform their plastic scraps into an ocean-friend. We’ll be providing examples such as fish, mermaid, and jelly-fish, but people can also make what they please with the provided materials.

Poetry and Collage Party with Kaitlyn Cote-Caron (she/her)
Discover how words and images can come together to create a story!

Exquisite Corpse with Abbey Dufault (she/her)
Does collaborating with friends to create unique, one of a kind creatures sound intriguing to you? Come and join this workshop! Participants will be guided through the making of their very own 3-part exquisite corpses.
