Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. Twenty-six large and furry animals and plants will emerge from a crate in collection storage for Jewel Point, Gisele Amantea’s 1996 series which was acquired by the AGW in 2002 was shown in its entirety for the first time in the Explorations Gallery.
Gisele Amantea is based in Montreal, and is a prolific artist with a longstanding interest in the popular arts, kitsch, and domestic themes.
