Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Lawren Stewart Harris: A Painter’s Progress
February 16, 2002 - April 21, 2002
AWE Gallery
The Art Gallery of Windsor is pleased to present an exhibition of over forty works by celebrated Canadian painter Lawren Stewart Harris. During his lifetime, Harris transformed from a solid realist painter experimenting with the Canadian landscape to an insightful abstractionist.
From his perfected landscapes with the Group of Seven to the geometric abstractions of later periods, Lawren Stewart Harris: A Painter’s Progress takes you through Harris’ prolific career and the profound reinvention of his artistic identity.
