Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

AWE Gallery
The permanent Collection is the largest and most important source the Gallery has to develop its exhibitions. It chronicles the history of Canadian art, and reaffirms the cultural identity of the region and country. Consisting of approximately 3000 pieces, it is held in truth by the Gallery for the benefit of the community.
This exhibition represents the diversity of Canadian art, from the mid-19th century to the present, in a variety of media.
