Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

SNACK
May 27, 2017 - October 1, 2017
AWE Gallery
Food is necessary for our survival, and it’s also a profitable industry, a source of pleasure and a key fixture of cultural traditions and celebrations. The universal nature of food makes it an ideal subject matter for artists to critically examine many themes, such as commerce, identity and the intersection of art and life. Snack features works by American Pop artists Claes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist, Andy Warhol and contemporary artists John Baeder, Charles Bell, Don Eddy, John Sokol, Ken Heyman, Ralph Steiner, Brandon Juhasz, Sandy Skoglund and Kristen Cliffel, to name a few.
Curated by Theresa Bembnister, Akron Art Museum, Ohio and is organized by the Akron Art Museum.
