Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Tseng Kwong Chi: The Expedition
November 14, 1998 - February 28, 1999
AWE Gallery
A photographer and performance artist, Tseng Kwong Chi created his own unique version of tourist snapshots. In a ten-year expedition that began in 1979, he is pictured throughout the world at monuments ranging from the sacred to the secular to the blatantly commercial to the natural. Reminiscent of 19th century landscape pictures, the artist becomes a romantic figure in the sublime awe-inspiring scenery.
