Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Victor Romão: Quem sabe de mim sou eu
August 15, 1998 - October 28, 1998
AWE Gallery
This exhibition features paintings by Victor Romão, an emerging Windsor artist and graduate from the School of Visual Arts at the University of Windsor. Victor Romão’s untitled paintings on canvas and wood were produced over the last three years. Many are suggestive of landscapes or maps, yet their intimate scale implies an interior world. While Romão is undoubtedly influenced by the history of the genre of abstract painting, his art also responds to the dominant visual languages which surround us every day in urban and digital environments.
