Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

AWE Gallery
In November 1950, Yousuf Karsh was approached by Ford of Canada’s director of public relations to undertake a series of photohraphs of the company’s plant in Windsor. The Ford series of images symbolized the wholesome nature of both the Ford workers and their products. Ford wished the pictures to reveal that “the story of Formd of Canada’s progress can best be told in terms of people.”
