Over the course of eight workshops, participants will be guided by creative mentors from the community to create head-to-toe looks that celebrates their cultural and personal identity. From ribbon skirts and shorts, to moccasins and jean jackets, we will put a contemporary twist on traditional garments.

This project, in partnership with AWE and the Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre Of Windsor, was co-developed by Indigenous community members. This is an Indigenous-led project.

This project is open to First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth aged under 30 years old. Participants will receive an honorariums. Each participant will create a head-to-toe look that reimagine traditional garments and regalia. The designs will be presented during a Fashion Show at AWE in December 2023.

No previous experience is necessary and all materials will be provided. Participants will attend all 8 workshops and must demonstrate a commitment and desire to learn! Spaces are limited; pre-registration is required.
