Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

AGW Past President Sean White Appointed to Ontario Arts Council Board of Directors
On behalf of the Art Gallery of Windsor Board, staff and supporters, we celebrate the appointment of AGW Past President Sean White to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Arts Council, confirmed on September 4, 2015. Mr. White has been involved with the AGW since 2001 when he joined the Artworks Campaign Cabinet as a volunteer. He joined the AGW Board in 2007 and since then has served as Treasurer, Vice President, President, and is currently is completing his term as Past President (to March 31, 2016). Additionally, Sean White has served as a Trustee for the AGW Foundation. He is currently the Branch Manager of the Windsor ScotiaMcLeod office and has been dedicated to the firm for the past 16 years.
During his long commitment to the AGW, Sean White has steered the Gallery through many changes and supported many initiatives, especially including the transition to the new operating model of January 2013 when we became a lease tenant at 401 Riverside Drive West. We are thrilled to see Mr. White take on this prestigious appointment. The provincial mandate of the Ontario Arts Council serves a vital role in supporting culture across all the arts and we know he will support this mission while also championing Windsor-Essex. White now joins the ranks of Clifford Hatch, Mina Grossman (aka Mina Grossman-Ianni), Doug Lawson and Jane Brindley, Windsor-Essex residents who have also served on the Board of the Ontario Arts Council.
We wish Mr. White much success in this important government appointment.
