Weekends in the Studio! Gelli Plate Prints with Meaghan Sweeney

In the studio this week, artist Meaghan Sweeney will take you on an adventure of monotype printing using a gelli plate. Experiment with rolling acrylic paint on a gelli plate to reveal the details of bubble wrap, botanicals, and found objects in a print. It’ll be a fun and perhaps a bit messy so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting some paint on!

About the Artist: Meaghan Sweeney

Meaghan Sweeney (She/They) is a contemporary mixed media artist based in Windsor-Essex. Her work is an introspective exploration of self, analyzing themes of values, personal philosophy, identity, and lived experience with mental illness. They received their  BFA in Fine Arts at the University of Windsor in 2021. She has a strong passion for mental health advocacy and using art as a tool for connection, healing, and community building.
