Art Windsor-Essex respectfully acknowledges that we are located on Anishinaabe Territory – the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, comprised of the Ojibway, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Today the Anishinaabe of the Three Fires Confederacy are represented by Bkejwanong. We want to state our respect for the ancestral and ongoing authority of Walpole Island First Nation over its Territory.

Young Citizens Workshop
How are cities organized? Which levels of government manage which parts of the city? Melinda Munro answers these questions in one of our civics workshops.

About the Workshop
University of Windsor professor Melinda Munro led a workshop on how cities are organized and managed. We learned about how different levels of government work together in the day-to-day operation of a city. This knowledge was practiced in the completion of our Levels of Government worksheet.
In the second half of our workshop participants were encouraged to communally design a town plan using all of the elements that we learned about in the first half as a way to demonstrate their knowledge of civic organization.

About the Worksheet
This worksheet invites participants to identify which levels of government are responsible for which parts of Sandwich town? Who is responsible for the bridges and roads? The schools and power plants? Find out with this worksheet.
